Dr. Patrick Fong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Building and Real Estate at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He was an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building, University of Technology, Sydney, Australia. His PhD in Industrial and Business Studies was obtained from the Warwick Business School, UK. He has a multi-disciplinary background and his research interests include knowledge management (KM) and project management. He has authored or co-authored many refereed KM research papers and received funding for research into many different facets on knowledge management. He co-edited a book entitled “Management of Knowledge in Project Environments”, published by Elsevier/Butterworth-Heinemann in 2005, and has also contributed chapters in several leading knowledge management books in construction as well as encyclopedias in knowledge management. He maintains close links with industry, and was Vice President of the Hong Kong Knowledge Management Society. He is also a member of the international body, CIB W102 - Information and Knowledge Management in Building, and a Visiting Research Scholar in Knowledge Management of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
