I am a Knowledge Management Consultant and Facilitator.

My interest in KM began about 1985. I just finished my M.Sc. thesis which dealt with a certain application of the Geological Data Base which I was in charge of.
I began writing a Ph.D. thesis that intended to demonstrate the use of Expert Systems, Fuzzy (and other types of) Logic and Case Based Reasoning to that goal.
Lack of funding and as specializing in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) as a profession required most of my time, the effort had to be put on hold.

After about ten years, I found myself again dealing with KM.
This time it was related to Civil Engineering Utility GIS research. After the design of a very large and complex GIS, I proceeded to the next stage of designing a knowledge based system that can analyze new and existing data. My client spent most of its time in collecting the data and since the specialized knowledge of understanding the meaning of the data was scarcely available, we had to incorporate KM functionality to acquire the Knowledge for the use of the technicians.
The system is capable of producing automatic reports which collect the required data from the different parts of the database, evaluate the gaps or inconsistencies, all done by following the semantic knowledge of the specific engineering knowledge domains.

In 2003 I implemented a KM system in the OFFICE environment for gathering Knowledge from Bids and RFPs to be more easily used in the preparation of new requests and for improving the winner selection process.

Working with Byon-IT Solutions included requirements elicitation for KM systems, recommendations for deployment and facilitation of enterprise level Web Portals.

I am an accredited practitioner of the Cognitive Edge software and methods, following the course I took in Singapore in 2008.

I am always in need of new exciting challenges that could benefit from my diverse fields of expertise.
